What is LAGOM
Lagom is a Swedish word without a direct translation in English or Dutch.
The Swedish-English dictionary Lexin, describes Lagom as; adequate, enough, sufficient and just right.
Lagom is also widely translated as; moderation, balanced, optimal, suitable and average. But while words like, enough and average, suggest a certain way of abstinence, Lagom carries the meaning of perfection and appropriateness.
The original Swedish saying "Lagom är bäst", literally "Lagom is the best" is translated as "enough is as good as a feast" in the Lexin dictionary.
The word was first used in the time of the Vikings. Literally the word is composed of two different words "LAG" meaning team or group and "OM" meaning around. LAGOM was used for example, when there was an honest split within a team.
